THE SCOPE

Ideate and edit high-performing short-form content for the Rice Thresher Instagram to modernize student journalism and drive digital-first engagement.

THE SYSTEM

Through the dynamic integration of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, I engineered a production pipeline for visually rich, high-velocity content with three key factors: 

  • Narrative: Refining hooks and cold opens to maximize retention in entertainment-forward formats.

  •  Audio Visual Design: Layering custom graphics and spatial sound effects to immerse viewers

  • Brand Continuity: Integrating the Thresher's existing closed-captioning system to preserve visual identity within the team

THE SOLUTION

My storytelling and visual strategies resulted in over 70k views on the Rice Thresher Instagram. To date, I hold the record for both the #1 and #2 most-viewed and #1 and #2 most-liked individual videos in the publication’s history. Due to this impact, after working just one semester in the organization, I was fast-tracked to serving as a mentor for incoming editors on motion graphics workflows and narrative hooks, ensuring the systemic longevity of the Thresher’s digital presence.
